50 years ago, in 1966, Henry Ford challenged Ferrari at one of the most memorable races ever and managed to beat the Italian racer at Le Mans.
In honor of this historical date, Shelby and Superformance decided to work together and create a beautiful GT40 MKII 50th Anniversary replica, which will be available in a limited number of 20 units.
The iconic 1966 GT40 winner of the Le Mans race is present in every detail of the nowadays replica, including the right positioned steering wheel and manual transmission.
In spite of Superformance recommending the Shelby 427 FE V8 engine, the buyers will have the chance to customize the car and choose another engine.
The replica will include some modern features, comparing to the original GT40, for example the Bilstein brakes and H&R arches, along with air condition and adjustable pedals.
The GT40 MKII 50th Anniversary replica will be available in three color schemes: the Ken Miles edition – blue with white stripes, the Bruce McLaren edition – black with silver stripes and the Dan Gurney edition – red with white stripes. All of the 20 cars will have the anniversary logo printed on them.
With a futuristic design, but instantly recognizable as a Ford GT, the super car debuted at NAIAS Americans in 2015 where he collected many glances and criticism!
So Ford has ensured the maximum attention of the present public at the Auto Show in Detroit!
