The Huntress boat collaboration between Mercedes Benz AMG and Cigarette Racing is no breaking news.
We have seen the previous results of their partnerships in 2010 – the Rider Boat and in 2012 – the Marauder boat, both ships inspired from AMG models. Now the brands are hitting the marketplace once again, with the Huntress boat, a 42 feet ship, inspired from the G63 AMG.
The Huntress boat was presented at the Miami Boat Show, February 14, 203, and it represents a watercraft with a design inspired by the famous SUV.
Besides the usual comfort that we have previously received from Cigarette Racing, the boat will be super rapid, according to the info made public by the producers.
And how wouldn’t it be, since Huntress runs on five Mercury racing Verado 350SCi boat engines. Each engine has six cylinders and produces 350 hp, which makes a total of 1750 hp running out the Mercedes inspired watercraft.
The tank can fit up to 500 liters of fuel, while the maximum speed reaches 78 mph.
Not always does the number of horsepower, the huge ground clearance, or the number of wheels save you from accident situations.
There is also a need for a good dose of luck, experience and driving skills. Apparently, the G63 AMG Brabus’ driver lacked an aforementioned element, considering the fact that the bulldozer (it’s hard to call it SUV) flipped over!
We do not know the causes of the incident, filmed by the dash camera of another driver cruising on the Russian streets. One thing is certain now, there is one less of these dinosaurs on the roads, for now. Most likely Brabus’ driver tried to avoid a car in its path, but the speed was too high and the weather conditions prevented him from doing so.
We remind you that under the hood of this monster is installed a 5.5 liter V8 bi-turbo, which in Brabus configuration develops 700 horsepower and around 960 Nm of torque. The maximum speed limit barely reaches 160 kmph, which makes me think that the man who was driving the car behaved gentle with the accelerator. However, in an unlucky day, the performance doesn’t play much of a role.
Everyone agrees that the G63 AMG 6×6 is one of the most insane and badass vehicles in the world. They are so few of them that seeing one on the road is a sweet treat…but seeing one on its home turf is even far more rare.
MDKSupercars has spotted and filmed one such beast on a beach in Belgium. It was drifting and spinning and playing in the sand like it was meant to!
Enjoy the insanity and easiness that this vehicle is off-roading!
It was a surprise to find out that the largest Mercedes-Benz SUV is prohibited for circulation in big cities of China. But here’s the mystery explained.
As Mercedes-Benz G63 AMG 6×6 weighs over 3.7 tons and has a length of approximately 6 meters (5.85) and a height of over two meters (2.3m), it automatically falls into Truck category. So, you could ask, what if it’s a truck.
Here is why… there is a law prohibiting truck access in the great cities of China such as Shanghai or Beijing. And here is a follow up question, how did the Germans transport this 6×6 Brabus version to the showroom?
We can guess the answer. Most likely the vehicle was transported in a container or a special platform that can accommodate such a giant. Kind of a shame, considering that this model is absolutely unique and cannot be seen anywhere, especially on public roads.
Brabus 6×6, which is based on a G63 AMG 6×6, comes equipped with a 5.5-liter V8, forced to the limit of 700 HP. Acceleration to the first hundred per hour takes only 7.4 seconds, which is quite impressive for a vehicle of this size.
Oh yes, let’s not forget its starting price of 1.6 million dollars in China…
The most terrifying terrain vehicle ever produced by Mercedes-Benz, G63 AMG 6×6 with six axes is for sale in the US. Its price is “a little” steep and reaches nearly a million dollars, or 975.000 USD to be exact!
Its VIN code says that the monster was produced in 2014 and is intended only for European customers as Mercedes-Benz wasn’t planning on not launching this SUV on overseas market. However, Mirabella Motors have done everything possible to get their hands on a copy to then sell it for a higher price.
We remind you that initially Mercedes-Benz G63 AMG 6×6 was selling for 516,100 dollars, taxes included! The mastodon weighs 3,850 kg and is powered by a twin-turbo V8 that produces 544 horsepower and 758 Nm of torque!
Mercedes-Benz will sell a version with the 6×6 traction of the G63 AMG’s SUV – the car that would be built in 20-30 copies annually at the Magna Steyr factory in Graz, Austria, is based on a military car, built for the Australian Army and is in use since 2011.
Mercedes-Benz G63 AMG 6×6 will have a V8 petrol engine of 536 HP and 760 Nm and a seven-speed automatic gearbox 7G-Tronic. If the engine and the gearbox were changed, the traction system 6×6, with five differential locks, remained the same as the military version.
The SUV has four seats, a pick-up trailer, and 37-inch wheels! The ground clearance is 460 mm, while the length is 5.867 mm, the width is 2.111 mm, and the height is 2.209 mm, which means that the 6×6 monster is by 1.1 m longer, by 23 cm wider and by 27 cm higher than a G63 AMG 4×4.
Mercedes-Benz G63 AMG 6×6 has a weigh of 3.775 kg and can sprint from zero to 100 kmph in less than six seconds, and the top speed is electronically limited to 160 kmph.
According to multiple sources, each year will be built between 20 and 30 copies of G 6×6, each with a price of about 420.000 euros.
