The legend says that a person selling aircraft tried to make Bill Harrah buy a helicopter from him. The helicopter would help him travel from his hotels in Reno to Lake Tahoe. Harrah agreed only if the helicopter is faster than his 146-mph Ferrari. That specific Ferrari Daytona is now for auction.
Harrah is known as the founder of an empire of hotels and casinos – Caesars Entertainment group. Except that, he is also known as the West Coast distributor for Prancing Horse.
He purchased this Ferrari 365 GTB/4 Daytona in 1971 and had it upgraded by tuner Frank Mir of Santa Monica. The car is known as Harrah Hot Rod and it features competition-style alloys, flared fenders and an enhanced 4.4-liter V12 engine that delivers 386 hp.
