This is Volkswagen’s third all-electric concept – VW I.D. Crozz. It was launched at the Shanghai Auto Show. The concept is based on the same platform as I.D. hatchback and I.D. Buzz microbus. It is scheduled to hit the market by 2020.
The concept is powered by a pair of electric motors, one for the front axle and one for the rear. The front unit delivers 101 hp and the rear – 201 hp. The total power reaches 302 hp. The car will reach 62 mph in less than 6 seconds and its range is of around 311 miles (500 km). The powertrain is completed by an 83 kWh battery.
Its battery can be charged to 80 percent in half an hour with a 150 kW DC electrical charging system. The battery is placed in the floor and the car has also got two transmissions in use and an electric propshaft.
